Episode 228

228 - Vampire In Brooklyn (1993) - The Rise of Julius Jones

We continue Black History Month with the Eddie Murphy and Angela Basset comedy Vampire in Brooklyn, written by Charlie Murphy, directed by Wes Craven, and co-starring John Witherspoon (R.I.P to all), this film was derided by critics, and reasonably so. but it has some merits that withstood the test of time and has come to a higher degree of appreciation. We also cover black depictions in horror cinema through the 40’s and 50’s. Spoiler: it’s mostly not great. But there are some shining lights that get their due.
