War of the World Radio Broadcast (1938) - The Original Fake News

80 Years ago this very night, a nation was riveted with news of an occurring alien invasion..... or so they thought. Since they tuned into the middle of the Mercury Theater on the Air, playing their dramatization of H.G Wells The War of the Worlds. Though announced properly, many people then were into the habit of channel surfing when their shows went to commercial, and so the show in progress was mistaken for an actual alien encounter.

Mike and Sheldon have decided this anniversary needed to be honored and so we review the Orson Wells broadcast that swept a nation by storm on the night it aired, Oct 30, 1938. Join us as we review a radio broadcast on a movie review podcast because why would we do what you expect on Halloween?

We are now hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued support to help keep the show going and get access to bonus perks, you can do so by checking us out at Patreon

You can also support us IN STYLE by getting MERCH! Follow us on Twitch for games and live viewings. Also we have a Discord if you want to meet other fans and chat with us! You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads

I am a middle aged Canadian geek and nerd (yes they are different and i am BOTH) who is making podcasts and trying to be funny for pay instead of funny for free. I deliver my unique perspective and humour on many topics in podcast, though i am expanding into other brands as time goes on.
