The Old Dark House (1932) - We're All Femm Here - Pride Month in B&W 2023

We did NOT forget Pride Month. We just don’t need one month in the year to celebrate it. We will honour the greyscale rainbow as we take on coded queer films that showed your freak flag can fly even if its monochrome! Classic black and white horrors will be on the menu as we start with a film that was lost for 85 years, James Wales “The Old Dark House” lampoons Hollywood tropes, even in the time they were just getting started. Satire from the early 30’s that does a great job. We have trans and queer characters, several queer actors, by an openly gay director. The closest we could get to a pride parade at the time, this is a REALLY good film and you can get it on Youtube, and you SHOULD.
